Aparna Yadav joins Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), this comes as the big news break in the upcoming elections 2022.
Following a week of losing major leaders to the Samajwadi Party, the BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) has finally won one of its own. Aparna Yadav, the daughter-in-law of SP (Samajwadi Party) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, is expected to join the BJP, according to sources.
Aparna Yadav is Mulayam Singh’s younger son Pratik Yadav’s wife. The BJP and Aparna Yadav have been in talks for some time, and the two have reached an agreement just days before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Aparna Yadav’s Previous Battle
Aparna Yadav fought for the Lucknow Cantt seat in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. She was defeated by BJP’s Rita Bahuguna Joshi by 33,796 votes.
BJP’s Ticket Distribution
On Saturday, the BJP unveiled its initial list of 107 candidates for the February 10 and 14 primary elections. There are 44 OBC names on the list, including 16 Jats, followed by 43 general and 19 Scheduled Castes names.
BJP’s Previous Performance in UP
The BJP, which won 303 of the 403 assembly seats in 2017, will name candidates for the remaining 296 seats at a later date. Aparna Yadav’s name will now appear on a future list of nominees as a result of her joining the BJP. The BJP, though, is determined to field her from a different constituency this time, according to sources.
Her admission into the BJP might turn the tables on the ruling party, which has suffered numerous setbacks ahead of the seven-phase UP elections. The event will begin on February 10 and conclude on March 7.
The India State Election Phases
The first four rounds of voting will take place on February 10, 14, 20, and 23, with the final three phases taking place on February 27, March 3, and March 7. Meanwhile, on March 10, the votes will be counted and the results will be announced.
Clashes in Ideologies
Aparna has been a vocal critic of the SP’s policies, viewpoints, and beliefs, and has spoken out against them on numerous occasions. The young lawmaker previously stated that she “could not take responsibility” for her family’s past actions. Mulayam Singh Yadav’s actions as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1990 prompted her reply. During his time in office, Yadav issued controversial instructions to the Uttar Pradesh police to open fire on kar-sevaks near the Babri Masjid, causing widespread outrage across the state and country.
