Apple’s MacBook Air is our present recommendation when it comes to pick the best blogging laptop in 2021. It’s a machine that does almost everything correctly. While it is far from perfect, it does not have any serious problems. It’s an excellent choice for productivity, surfing, and moderate gaming.

We live in a society where mobile phones are ubiquitous, tablets are popular, and smartwatches are a topic of conversation on a regular basis. But, in the midst of all of these technological advancements, the modest laptop has endured – and rightly so. We’re here with our top selections to discover the best computer for the job, whether you’re editing images, composing a lot of emails, preparing documents, or keeping in contact with peers and colleagues.

It’s becoming more difficult to buy a good laptop, the way the laptops of 2021 blend power, efficiency, mobility, and comfort is what sets them apart from good machines. An ideal blogging notebook should have a great combination of a keyboard and a touchpad, because those are the two main reasons you’d pick a laptop over a phone or tablet. Its display must be easy on the eyes, vibrant, and crisp enough that uneven corners and exposed pixels do not bother you. It must  be capable of performing most day-to-day tasks with decent video editing and mid-scale complex gaming. It should be lightweight and portable, and it should be able last for longer durations without frequent need of charging.

The HP Envy x360 13 is, in our view, a great machine for budget laptop buyers. It offers performance comparable to far more costly laptops for less than $1,000.

The Chromebooks, 2-in-1s in 2021, and along with Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, the MacBook Pro 16, and the HP Elite Dragonfly are among our other recommendations for the finest laptops. If you’re searching for a powerful system that doesn’t compromise mobility, view the full list of favorite laptop options below.

The greatest notebook you can purchase is the late-2020 MacBook Air, which is powered by Apple's silicon M1 processor. The cheapest model costs around $1200 (INR 92,900) in India and comes with 8GB of RAM and 256Gb of onboard storage.

1. MACBOOK AIR (LATE 2020)

NOTHING GETS BETTER THAN A MAC

The greatest notebook you can purchase is the late-2020 MacBook Air, which is powered by Apple’s silicon M1 processor. The cheapest model costs around $1200 (INR 92,900) in India and comes with 8GB of RAM and 256Gb of onboard storage.

This notebook shares a lot of similarities with Apple’s Intel-chipset MacBook Air from earlier this year, such as the identical 2560 x 1600 screen, Touch ID, 720p web camera, fingerprint reader, and the greatest change over past series of Macs is the change from butterfly type to scissor-switch keyboard.

But it’s the new CPU that steals the show; it’s lightning fast. In our testing, it outperformed practically every Intel-powered laptop we’ve seen this year when it came to intensive photo and video editing workloads. It could also run Shadow of the Tomb Raider at near-playable frame rates, which is quite an achievement for integrated graphics. These apps weren’t optimised for the M1 processor at launch, and they were still running via Apple’s Rosetta 2 translation layer — yet they worked perfectly.

The fantabulous processing speed of the M1 chip doesn’t compromise the battery life: Apple assures a battery life of around 18 hours, and we must agree that they’re quite right about it. In fact we are on the third day of continuous use of a Macbook (M1 variant) without charging, and we still have about 30 percent of battery juice left. So yes, nothing could beat a Macbook on battery performance.

Another advantage of the M1 chip is that it allows the MacBook Air to run natively on macOS iPhone and iPad apps. There isn’t a great selection of smartphone apps present as of this writing, and several that have been launched aren’t fully optimised for the laptop screen. Still, it’s something to look forward to as time passes.

Ultimately, there’s no reason why a buyer looking for a laptop for regular use shouldn’t consider the MacBook Air. It’s a dependable gadget with superb performance and the Apple build quality that’s become synonymous with the company. Those that require a MacBook Pro are likely to know who they are; for the rest of us, the Air should suffice.

The Spectre x360 14 isn't simply attractive to look at; it's also a joy to drive on a daily basis. Intel's newest 11th Gen processors with Iris Xe integrated graphics give lightning-fast performance with no stuttering or freezes. And the device lasted an average of 10 hours on a charge, which is one of the finest numbers we've ever seen.

2. HP SPECTRE X360 14

PROBABLY THE BEST WINDOWS NOTEBOOK

It’s difficult to find a single flaw with the Spectre x360 14. It’s a stunning machine with a solid build and a high-end look and feel.

Intel’s newest 11th Gen processors with Iris Xe integrated graphics give lightning-fast performance with no stuttering or freezes. And the device lasted an average of 10 hours on a charge, which is one of the finest numbers we’ve ever seen.

The Spectre has a large 3:2 display on the exterior, and if FHD resolution isn’t your thing, there are OLED and 1,000-nit choices as well. There’s also a stylus included, which magnetically attaches to the Spectre’s edge – useful if you’re using it as a tablet. Almost every other feature of this laptop, from its comfy keyboard and responsive trackpad to its bass-heavy music and sensible port options, is comparable to or better than the best convertibles in the industry.

However it's the inside that's the most intriguing: the new Envy x360 is driven by AMD's Ryzen 4000 series. With a somewhat heavy load of multitasking, the Ryzen 5-4500U in our model performed admirably. Furthermore, AMD's bundled Radeon graphics gave gaming performance that was comparable to that of a lower-powered separate GPU.

3. HP ENVY X360 (2020 Ryzen Variant)

THE BEST IN BUDGET

You don’t have to pay $1,000 to acquire a premium-look and feel notebook. Because of its durable and compact structure, stylish convertible layout, and exceptional performance, the HP Envy x360 2020 is the best value notebook you can buy.

HP has carried over a number of features from its superb 2019 flagship, the Spectre x360, such as the slim chassis and practically bezel-free screen with an 88 percent screen-to-body ratio, making the Envy even better. The touchscreen (which is compatible with HP’s MPP2.0 pen) is vivid and attractive. (A 300-nit, 400-nit, or 1,000-nit panel is available.) HP has also added a row of useful shortcut keys to the keyboard, including mic and camera kill switches.

The MacBook Pro brings a quite different style and looks than the MacBook Air, and also a few extra features such as the Touch Bar. However, they both use the same processor. The key difference is that the Pro has a fan (while the Air does not), allowing it to handle high workloads for longer periods of time without having to reduce its performance. Unless you're regularly performing heavy jobs for lengthy periods of time, you won't even notice much of an efficiency difference between the two Apple MacBooks.

4. MACBOOK PRO 13 (LATE 2020)

THE BEST MACBOOK PRO FOR EVERYDAY USERS

You’ll want to check the late-2020 MacBook Pro if you’re searching for an M1 MacBook for heavy tasks. It starts at $1654 (INR 122,900), which is $400 higher than the MacBook Air released in the same year.

If this is the case, though, the Pro is the way to go. We were able to execute a number of large Premiere Pro exports with no noticeable lag. In a 30-minute loop of Cinebench R23, the Pro outperformed the Air by a significant margin; the scores were comparable after a couple of runs.

The weight of the Gram 17 isn't the only distinguishing attribute. It also offers some of the finest battery life, lasting more than 12 hours in our tests. There's absolutely nothing not to like about this machine, which has a nice keyboard, a respectable port selection, quiet fans, and a speedy processor.

5. LG GRAM 17 (2021)

THE LAPTOP FOR BIG SCREEN FANS

It’s hard to describe how light the LG Gram 17 is, even if you’ve used a light notebook before. It features a huge 17-inch display but barely weighs three pounds. Picking it up throws your mind for a loop; you feel like you’re carrying nothing.

Not everyone requires a 17-inch screen, and those that do are likely searching for a heavier-duty desktop that won’t be relocated frequently. You’re the target market for this gadget if you simply want a big screen for your daily office job and Netflixing. In today’s market, it’s a niche, but very impressive item with little serious competition.

We suggest Dell's latest XPS 13 2-in-1 convertible notebook if you're searching for a machine that does almost everything correctly. It offers a well-built chassis, a practically bezel-free 16:10 touchscreen display, and Intel's latest 11th Gen processors.

6. DELL XPS 13 2-IN-1

A GREAT 2-IN-1 LAPTOP

We suggest Dell’s latest XPS 13 2-in-1 convertible notebook if you’re searching for a machine that does almost everything correctly. It offers a well-built chassis, a practically bezel-free 16:10 touchscreen display, and Intel’s latest 11th Gen processors.

For $1,681 (INR 124,990), you get a Core i3-1154G4 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 1920 x 1200 screen, and a 256GB SSD. A 3840 x 2400 screen, a Core i7-1165G7, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD are among other options. There are a variety of add-ons available, including a white model for $50 and a $60 increase for Windows 10 Pro.  There is basically plenty to choose from.

Since last year’s edition, Dell has made a few small changes to the 2-in-1. Windows Hello is now supported by the webcam, and the RAM and microSD reader have indeed been improved. The new processor, in particular Intel’s new integrated graphics, is the most intriguing news. On our Adobe Premiere Pro export test, the XPS 13 2-in-1 outperformed any 10th Gen notebook with an iGPU. You could even play some games on it: it managed 60 frames per second in Rocket League, League of Legends, and Overwatch, and 36 frames per second in Shadow of the Tomb Raider at the minimum game settings. This is an upgrade above the results of 10th Gen devices, and it also outperforms some 11th Gen systems.

Of course, it isn’t flawless. The connector selection is restricted (as is typical of recent XPS models), and the keyboard is plain to our liking. The 2-in-1, on the other hand, excels in the basics: build quality, screen, functionality, and standby time. What else could you ask for?

Furthermore, the keyboard and touchpad are excellent and quiet enough not to disturb coworkers.
